Career Profile

Chris is a disciplined Programme Manager with 28 years in Project and Programme Management. Chris has delivered business change and IT projects and programmes within many industry sectors (finance, media, manufacturing, telecoms, government, defence, aerospace, utilities, travel) delivering international, multi-million pound projects and programmes. He is experienced at managing large multi-disciplined teams of up to 100 people across multiple sites. Most recently Chris has successfully delivered a global business change programme affecting over 100,000 staff for Deutsche Bank delivering significant business benefit, managed a large critical software application for the Police and implemented a large business change programme implementing Salesforce CRM at Serco. Chris has also worked on a multi-million pound bid for G4S addressing the planning elements of Mobilisation, Transition and Transformation for Prisons outsourcing, and provided project management consultancy for CACI, NTT DATA, G4S, a large business consultancy and the Royal Marsden Hospital.

  • Programme Manager for the design, migration and implementation of a Microsoft upgrade solution for 85,000 users in a major UK bank.

2005 Clarks - Project Manager

  • Undertook a troubleshooting and recovery role as Project Manager for a major international manufacturer and retail organisation that was upgrading legacy environment based on Novell to new Microsoft infrastructure (server, storage and desktop) across its global operation.
  • Provided successful handover to third party support organisation which was considered to be the highest risk area in the programme.

2003-2004 Project Director

  • Project Director for HP’s Enterprise Microsoft Practice in the UK in 2003 with a portfolio of around £50M per annum.

  • Worked with a major international publisher on a £10M deal to undertake the design and migration of a global Windows Infrastructure across 41,000 users.

Oct 2000-March 2001: Bid Manager

  • Managed a £5M bid for a telecoms provider to provide a ZLE (Zero Latency Enterprise) solution

Anite Systems Ltd. (formerly Cray Systems Ltd.) (1991 - 2000)

Delivered a £10M project for the Taiwanese National Space Programs Office (NSPO) that provided a satellite ground station for the first Taiwanese satellite, ROCSAT 1.

  • Took over the project when it was in severe financial difficulties.
  • Retained high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Stopped deterioration of project margins.

Project Director, Travel Division

  • Managed the development of an industry-leading reservation system product deployed at 50 tour operators in the UK and overseas delivering critical business services. Revenues generated from the product were around £30M per annum.
  • Managed the delivery of SLA-based critical service (£5M per annum) to a major UK tour operator providing tactical and strategic enhancements to their reservation and billing system.

Production Manager of Government and Commercial Division

  • Managed a portfolio of business of £20M per annum.
  • Responsible for the management and production of commercial & technical proposals, and for the timely delivery of all projects undertaken.  These included systems for local authorities, government and their agencies, public services companies, and encompassed customers throughout Europe.
  • Closely involved with the integration of a number of acquisitions to the Division, including P-E International, AIMS and SAM Systems.

  • Image Processing System for the European Atomic Energy Authority
